ABOUT THE EVENT

At two and a half years when turmoil and disruption generated new ways of working and communicating within organizations
worldwide, 2022 brought a clearer air and the horizons of future of working started to take shape in a more settled atmosphere  and brighter prospects.
In this context, The Diplomat – Bucharest organizes the 6th edition of WORKPLACE OF THE FUTURE, the event dedicated
to the workspace trends. This year, data analytics, cold hard indicators, aspects related to safety, wellbeing, engagement,
purpose of work and the sense of belonging are components of hybrid working, evolving priorities, and a shifted role of
workspace. The past experiences have compelled both employers & employees to revisit major work processes and strategies  and assess them from the ground up.

DISCUSSIONS

THE EVOLVING POTENTIAL OF THE HYBRID WORKPLACE
The given rise to the hybrid workplace and the flexible approach to work developed in the past two years became a prevalent trend in 2022. The hybrid workplace model and the virtual work infrastructure allows building structure and sociability (at an office) while offering independence and flexibility (at home). However, the discussion on choosing the centralized/ on-site way of working, the fully remote work or the hybrid model is open to debate.
DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF THE WORKPLACE
The fast emergence of the hybrid workplace had effects on the way of communication outside and inside organizations. The online meetings, diverse digital applications and the fast-forward necessity of adjusting to new platforms were challenges but also, it triggered the fast evolution of employees and employers altogether. From group chats and video calls to sharing important documents, collaborative platforms allow you to centralize communication within an organization. The technology was the great enabler of unthinkable possibilities of the workspace and the among the most valuable proposition for talent management.
EMPLOYEE EXPERIENCE MATTERS
The wellbeing, safety, friendly and accessible workspace, work-life balance, the green approach and not the least, the sense of belonging and the company values are directly linked to other significant KPIs, such as employee engagement and employee productivity. Employees are the core of any organization. There has always been a need to focus on the employee experience and increase their engagement and productivity within an organization. Besides the traditional benefits offered by the organizations,
the employees’ expectations have gone through a significant shift. Employees today need personalized support.
MOVING THE FOCUS ON THE ESG
Global challenges amplified by pandemic issues have made ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG)issues even more urgent. While tackling these issues is simply the right thing to do, 78% of executives also believe that ESG performance creates organizational value and stronger financial performance. That’s because consumers and job-seekers, especially Gen Z and Millennials, are paying much more attention to how companies respond to issues like climate change and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
